Sorry for the delay in my reply!
I’ve read over your requirements and checked out the site you linked to. Honestly, I do not think Connections would be a good fit. I say this because there currently is not support marking entries as *featured*. That is on the wishlist and will happen at some point, But I could commit as to when and how this feature will be implemented. The other blocking item is that there is no way to to create entry levels with varying amount of info. This too is on my wishlist and when implemented will include a featured entry feature with a subscription model and gateway for payments.
I don’t know if another solution meets your requirements exist at the moment so I can’t even recommend another solution, sorry.

Sorry, no I do not have any type of work around.
I do have type ahead searching on my wish list but I can’t commit as to when and how this will be implemented.
Using a short word stop list is an interesting idea. Off the top of my head, not certain how to pull it off. I’ve added this to my issue tracker.

Currently Connections only supports keyword searching globally or limit to the category in templates that support both which are cMap, Market and all the *Plus templates. The keyword search will search both the name and city for matches, maybe categories can be used limit search queries by program and practice area?
Hope this helps!

You can already do this.
Add the Org.
When creating an entry, add the desired org name to the entry. From here you have a few options depending on your specific needs.
You can use the organization filter shortcode option to display a list of users assigned to a specific org like so:
[connections organization="My Org Name"]You could turn on the org name linking feature on the Connections : Settings admin page under the Advanced tab. With this on, the org name for every individual will now be links. When a user clicks that link, they will be shown a list individual assigned to the org.
Another option is to link directly to org lists; like so:
http://my-domain.com/directory-home-page/org/My Org NameYou can even add this links as custom links to your WordPress nav using the Menu editor.Hope that helps.

I just installed Event Manager, free version, seems fine on my test site. Maybe you’ve exhausted the memory allocated to PHP. Try this, let me know how it goes.

The solution might be pretty simple. Any entry that is assigned to the “Wholesale” category, set their entry to “Private” instead of “Public” Then on the Connections : Roles admin page set the “View Private” capability to the role that your registered user will be assigned.
This will limit what is returned what can be view by the “public” even in searches. Now the “Wholesale” category will show up, just the name, but if the user is not a registered user. they will just see a no result message instead of the entries.
Hope that makes sense and helps.

Each entry does have an ID. You can hook into the
cn_process_save-entryaction with your own custom form and save the extra meta to the connections_meta table. When I have time to implement this myself, that is how I’m going to do it. You would also have to write a couple custom helper functions to retrieve those meta fields.I hope that helps.

Yes, this has been requested and I intend on providing a solution but I can not commit as when and how this will be implemented.

This FAQ will work with Tile Plus too.
To import csv files, you will need the CSV Import Extension.
Hope that helps.

The next update of Connections will have this setting default to
1instead. That should make a better default setting. -
