It’s coming along very nicely. The APIs I’m building into Connections to support this is already infinitely extensible; no exaggerating.
I’d say I’m about half done and the APIs will be in the next release; 0.8. Keep in mind this will still require a bit a PHP coding to add a custom field and then display it in the template. I haven’t quite worked out the user interface stuff or how it’ll be packaged. At the very least when 0.8 drops, I’ll post a howto on how to add custom fields by dropping some code in the theme’s functions.php file and how to edit the templates to show the custom fields that were added.
Currently, there is built in support for about a dozen different fields types and I will be adding another dozen, roughly. This will just be the core fields, a dev could add extend the API to support any type of field imaginable…
So, when you say music related fields, what would those be? Could you describe what those fields would be and what you would enter?

Great to hear! And to answer your question, no, deleting Connections will not make you lose your data. It’s perfectly safe to delete. Actually those are for the most part the manual steps the auto update does.

Certainly, I’ll get back to tomorrow as soon as I can get some testing done. It’ll be no later than mid afternoon.
Also, the creds would be helpful. You can post them here as a private reply.

Oh, also, if you grant me a temp admin account I could take a closer look to see what the exact issue is and maybe provide a fix for all.

Thanks for reporting this! I wasn’t able to replicate, unfortunately. Maybe this free extension for Connections will help out; Connections Toolbar.

Interesting, what version does WordPress show? If it says 0.7.9.2, that is the latest. Which mean WordPress must have failed to completely install Connections. So, next step, would be to deactivate, delete and reinstall Connections. Let me know if that solves it.

How odd! I can not replicate this. I tried in native IE8 and IE10 and IE10 with the browser mode set to IE9 … wait … I can replicate this when I set IE10 browser mode to IE7. So, make sure your browsers are set to IE8 Standards mode. Let me know if that fixes it.

Connections does not have this type of feature. I suggest using a form plugin such as Gravity Forms or Ninja Forms.
I hope that helps!

The new version of Connections? You do not need to download it, just click the update link on the WordPress Plugins admin page.

Yes, you would add the
show_familyoption to the shortcode like so:[connections show_family=true]You’ll likely have to increase the tile height in order to accommodate the list.
I hope that helps!
