Honestly, I could not even begin to estimate when. At this point I only have a rough draft of how I would accomplish this as an extension to Connections. And I’m focused on developing features that are in much higher demand such as support for custom fields, which I’m nearly done with and is working extremely well. It’ll allow devs to quite easily extend Connections with all sorts of custom fields. I’m going to release, at the same time as the update, a free extension that’ll allow the recording of business hours per entry.

I do have someone I can recommend that might be interested in doing this. I’ll point him to this forum thread and ask home to reply. So you know in advance having this developed will require a significant amount of work.

My guess is that you are testing while logged in to your site in one browser and not the other. While logged in, submitting an entry will be processed with the same privileges you have in the admin. So if are permitted to add entries without moderation they will not be routed to the moderation queue. The same would apply to your users. I suspect they are logged and and have the add entry without moderation capabilities assigned to their role. If you users submissions should be moderated, adjust their role capabilities on the Connections : Roles admin page.

You need the CSV Import Extension for Connections.

Save the Excel as a CSV file. If you file contains special/extended characters, do what is outlined in the FAQ before importing the CSV file.

On the CSV Import page, there is a video demo of how to import a CSV file. The extension also has very detailed instructions.

Hmmm, I’ve giving something like this much thought…

As long as there is a one to one relationship to the data you collected with GF to the fields that are supported by Connections you can use the CSV Import. So, I would do that and install Link. Now the next time one of your users log in, their user account will be linked to the their Connections entry allowing them to edit. so this would not require deleting the existing users at all.

No, that is exactly how it is supposed to work as Connections is not integrated with the core WordPress search.

Yes, your subscribers will have to have access to at least the Edit page. And, maybe the User parent menu item which should simply link to the edit page if all other menu items have been removed.

I logged in to see if I could figure out what plugin you were using to modify the admin bar so I could be better advice, but I could not figure out which plugin was doing it.

To change field names. Install the Say What? plugin.

It’ll add a new Text Changes menu item. Click Add New, enter the string exactly as shown in Connections, enter connections [notice the lack of capitalization, that's important!] as the domain and then enter your new text.

The great thing about using this plugin is that it will be update safe and you can use it on any other plugin that has been properly internationalized. Hope that helps.
