In the email log, does it say it was sent successfully? If it does, then there is not much I can do at that point. It is there that the email is handed off to the email server to send. WP basically just reports if that was successful or not. It is the job of the email server to send the email and that is beyond the control off WP and Connections.

If your web host provider has email logs, perhaps they can shed light on to it. If you are sending the notification to a Gmail address and the To/From are the same and the address is actually an email alias for another email address in Gmail then Gamil will ignore the email. I think… there is some combination of settings where Gmail will not receive an email.

RE: A person has edited his info. In the dashboard we can see his name and that it has to be moderated. But when we open the entry and click on the save button, it still shows up to be moderated. How can we accept the changes so the entry is shown again?

Do not go into the edit screen of the entry… on the Manage admin hover your mouse over the entry name. Below the entry name, actions will be displayed, just like WP pages/posts. Click the Approve link.

You are trying to import the exported data into the CSV Tool for importing categories. To import the data, you need the CSV Import addon.

The change is universal to all users.

You are using the Google Maps provider, if you were not, you would see maps being provided by Wikimedia and not Google. It defaults to displaying maps from Wikimedia, unless, the Google Map API keys have been setup.

The library that I am building on top of is providing the ability to utilize multiple map providers. It uses its own map controls and not the “native” controls of the provider. I have not as of yet added the ability to switch map layers (road, satellite, etc. ).

New features have already been added. If an entry has more than one address, all address will now have markers and the map zoom will auto adjust to display all markers. The markers now have a popup which displays the address. And the maps now “lazy load” (load on demand) which allows the page to load quicker.

This is a more flexible, by far, solution… control over the map provider and layer controls as other map related features will come in future updates.

I do understand that the satellite layer control is an important feature for you and I do apologize for it absence and any trouble this may cause you.

You can turn off the other features as well:

[connections category=x enable_category_select=false enable_search=false show_alphahead=false cnec_display_categories=false]

Change x to the category ID you wish to display. Hope this helps!

Because Google now requires and API key with a valid billing address and payment method many users wanted a free mapping solution. This necessitated switching to a multiple mapping service provider library that I can use to switch mapping providers.

Since Google Maps is no longer natively being used, its controls such as zoom and layer type (road, satellite) do not exist. The controls on the maps being presented by this library and not Google.

All that said, yes, the satellite layer control had existed before the last update. More control over the map provider and layer controls will come in further updates.

You can use the category shortcode option to limit the list to a spcific category.
