Unfortunately the only Safari version I have access to is on the iPad and Form looks fine on my Form demo page. My first thought it is the theme conflicting somehow. When you visit the Form demo page, does it appear correct? If it does, temporarily switch your theme to TwentyTwelve and see if the issue persists.

No, there are no special settings needed. Maybe the theme is conflicting. The divs should not overlap but the image doesn’t change size … the template should look the same just less content width of the right div. Responsiveness is all just CSS. If you need/want to tweak you could create a custom template CSS file for the template using the CSS file that comes with the template as a base.

Can you share a link to your directory page, I’d like to see the issue.

Google crawls the demo pages page on my site … and there is basic SEO built into Connections such as the output being microdata hCard compliant (search engine friendly. Connections also adjust the meta page title and the meta description for search engines.

You need the Link extension. If you want the users to be able to edit in the front end, you also need the Form extension.

There is not any doc page for the meaning of the headings. I’ve never been asked for that before and I’m not entirely sure what you’re asking for… which headings specifically do you mean and I do my best to answer.

That site you linked to is not using the cMap template, it’s a custom template… the doc page for the shortcode options to customize the look and feel and functionality of cMap can be found on this page.

Honestly, I do not really have an ETA yet. The rewrite is more that just making it flexible. I want to be able to support custom taxonomies. Longer term goal, but I want to make sure the underlying code is ready.

Lets see…

1. See this QuickTip. Additionally, all the template support shortcode options to change strings that can not be changed using the method outlined in the Quicktip. See this FAQ.

2. If you do not enter anything for a field type, nothing will be shown. You can test this out using any of the templates that come with Connections.

3. They can not be removed, but as mention in 2., if you do not enter any messenger IDs, nothing will be shown.

4. When entering data in a fields type, you can set the visibility to Unlisted, only the admins will be able to view that info. This too can be tested with the templates that come with Connections.
