Connections is not and does not have a form builder. The closest extension available is the Form extension. Form is designed to be plug and play with minimal configuration … it is not a form building plugin.

Yes, custom fields can be added, but you will need a dev to add them as there is not yet a point and click methods available to create custom fields.

Connections only support the adding of one photo and one logo. The file size and file type are already limited to valid image types of jpg and png. How to upload, when adding an entry, click the choose button in either the image or logo fields, select your desired image. When you save the entry, the image will be uploaded.

Yes, there is a list of standard shortcode option. The list can be found on this doc page. Additionally, all the premium template support an additional 40–60+ shortcode options. This options can be found under the template production page in the main nav titled as “Customization Options”.

As mention in an answer in a previous question, custom fields will have to be added by a dev.

First, the support forum posting, go to any of the support forums and scroll to the bottom to post a new support topic. For example, here’s the link to the general support forum:

Shortcode usage. You only need to add the shortcode to the page once, all the options are added to the single shortcode. Please see the note on this doc page:

As an exmaple your shortcode would be:

[connections category_in='2,3,4' template='profile' show_alphaindex='true' repeat_alphaindex='true']

You are using show_alphaindex and repeat_alpahindex, I recommend simply using the options on the Connections : Settings admin page under the Display tab instead. It’ll be easier for you that way.

You going to have to explain in more detail what you’re trying to do because I do not understand. My best guess this relates to the Form extension, yes?

Unfortunately, regardless of what goDaddy support states, this is likely a host problem. There’s only two reason you might see this error in that file … one you might be trying to upload a multi-megapixel image in which case the upload size/time limits are being exceeded (host configuration issue) or the server you’re on is overcrowded which is causing the upload to be slow (host configuration issue). There is another reason I just thought of … the upload speed of the ISP could be causing the issue (the upload taking too long).

If you can add and manage entries which you are not adding images without issue would indicate one of the above is the reason. Try with a very small image, what is the result? My guess is that it’ll work fine. If that is the case, then I suggest trying to increase max_execution_time. You can try asking GoDaddy to that for you … you may or may not have success with asking them. You best course of action is to do it yourself. There are many walkthroughs for how to do this on GoDaddy on the net. here’s one that is WP specific:

re: i purchased the form extension so i could make interactive form so people could fill it out and the info then be saved and used to populate the fields in the directory listing.. but i cant seem to be able to do that…
Can you be more specific on exactly what you want to do and what you can not do?

Well, I’m assuming you adding the [connections] shortcode to a new page, yes? You need to add that page to your menu using WordPress. There are many great resources available for WordPress on how to manage your menu, I suggest reading a couple of them … after a quick search, I found this, seems to be very thorough:

As for changing the name … when you created a page, you gave the page a name, edit that page and change the page name. Here’s link to a youtube video explaining how to add and edit pages:

Looking at the page source it seems the core CSS has been disabled on Connections : Settings admin page under the Advanced tab. If it not enabled, enabling it will solve the issue. Let me know. I hope it helps!

Use the connectionsEntryList() function. You can pass an associative array $atts. The array accepts all the same options as the shortcode does. The keys in the associative array would be the shortcode option names. Here’s an example:

$atts = array(
  'template' => 'card',
  'order_by' => 'organization, department, sort_column',
  'category' => '2',
);

connectionsEntryList( $atts );

Sorry, no. The category_in option seems to, presently, take priority. I have just made changes to the exclude_category logic to ensure that this will work. If you can give me a temp admin login, I can login and apply the hotfix to your install of Connections.
