    @ Amy

No, that link I gave you is a sample link. change the values as described earlier and use that link to add to the site’s nav as a Custom Link on the WP Menus admin page. YOu would add that custom link instead of using the “standard” page link.

    Does that make sense?

Navigate to the Connections Settings admin page and click the Display tab. Near the top you will find an option to display the category list with a few configuration options. These options are added by Enhanced Categories and are compatible with its and the Widget Packs permalinks.

    Hope this helps!

Apologies, I should have mentioned that you would need the 2.2.1 update that I released shortly before seeing and responding to you initially.

What do you mean by custom permalinks?

In the Slim Plus template? I recently released an update which added maps due to requests that it be added since the other templates had that feature. To disable add enable_map=false to the shortcode. If needed, I might be able to come up with a global way to disable the maps. Let me know.

RE: That doesn’t give visitors an idea of the distance unless we do a text box though, right?

    Correct.

RE: If I order by distance, can I then add the alpha index to the top of each page?

Sorry, no, the character index only works when the default sorting is used.

Right, if you are using the category widget and enhanced categories, you should disable the category dropdown so they do not conflict. I am working on a solution which will redirect the category query ( ex. ?cn-cat=27) so they will internally redirect to the category permalink automatically.

    Hope this helps!

Given this a bit more thought…

Use this link for your directory page:

    http://earnestenterprisesllc.com/prairieside-dining-close/?cn-near-coord=42.8842689,-85.766693&cn-radius=1

Change the value for cn-near-coord to be the coordinates of your clients business. change the value for cn-radius to be the radius that all businesses are located within.

Edit the page with the [connections] shortcode. Add the order_by option setting its value to distance. So the shortcode should be something like “[connections order_by="distance"]`. Save the page.

Now, the entries should be listed in order of distance from your clients place of business.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes.
