Yes, there the Custom Entry Order extension. Which is part of the Pro Pack. Looks like you’ve installed it… Navigate to the Connections : Manage admin page and edit “Joe’s plumbing” and set the Order field to 1. Now that entry will be listed first.

Oh, I can see the plugin editor. I can navigate to the page and even select a plugin. But, as soon as I select a file to edit I get a 403 Forbidden error message.

Nope, I did not change any permissions at all. I simply added the test editor user the extension site. Which I just now removed.

I wonder if the upload error and the 403 forbidden error are related?

Admittedly I am far from an expert at WP Multisite… here’s what I did to “fix” the test editor user login you granted me.

I logged in as admin, navigated to the Network Admin : Site admin page. I then clicked the extension subsite and then Users tab.

Under this tab there is a “Add Existing User” option. I typed in the test editor username and selected Editor for the role and added the user to the site.

Now, when I visit the extension site as the editor user I can see all the entry details in the directory.

This does make sense as the user did not have the editor role on the subsite. So the solution seems to be to add all the editor users to the site.

I would say the actual bug or issue is that the entries were displayed at all. I think, because the entries and the details are set as public, so the logged in user should have been able to see them regardless.

I wanted to do a very minor tweak to the permissions logic using the plugin editor, but it is being blocked. Could you temporarily unblock it so I can make this tweak? I believe this will not require you to add all the editor users to the site.

No, the option on the Connections : Roles admin page. Using this reset only resets the Connections custom capabilities to the role. It will not affect any other. So, It should be safe. But since I can log in now, I’ll just take a look.

You do not need a new email address, you only need to log in first with the email you used previously. It’s very similar to how most stores work.

It appears you are logged in. At least when you submitted this post you were. Is it still asking for a new email when you make a purchase? If it is, that is definitely a bug.

Hmmm. ok, click the “Reset Editor Capabilities” for the Editor role and save. Does that help?

If it does not, I’ll need a temp admin account with the same permissions as your admin account and a temp editor account. The details can be posted here as a private reply. This way I can get a closer look and determine the issue and fix it.

No matter the solution you use for registration, you will have to allow user registration. How else would you verify the user has permissions? Keep in mind that WordPress “powers” nearly a third of the open websites. The WordPress user security is proven.

Well, I have no plans to create a registration plugin because they are so many available. Many of which are very feature rich.

I have considered adding an option to the Link extension to create an entry when a user is registering. However, this would still use the WordPress user account and user registration process. It would likely only add a couple fields for the name, making them required. You know, to keep it simple.

Use the Contact link at the very bottom of the page. Send me the name and email address that I can use to setup the new account. Also include the licenses that should be transferred. I’ll setup the account and transfer the licenses. Inform your client that they will receive an email to confirm their account.

Sounds like a user capability issue. Connections is activated on the subsites and not network activated, correct?

Verify the editors have their role capabilities set on the Connections : Roles admin page.

Yes, that is correct. It is the sales the fund the development and support of Connections without the support of these sales Connections could not continue to exist as I could not afford it otherwise. Hopefully you understand.
