Question, are you using the Default Entry Card template? If you are, I just identified a bug which would prevent SiteShot working while investigating this for you.

I can apply a hot patch to get this working for you on your site wo you do not have to wait for updates to be release.

Sorry, there is no way to allow the user to edit their entry and still display the “old” entry while waiting for the moderator to approve the changes. This is because there is no “new” and no “old” entry. There is only a single entry at any given point so it is either approved for display or not.

I see, one entry for a single doctor would make sense in that context. There is no builtin way to assign a phone to an address. What I’ve done for others in the past as a custom project is create a custom plugin where an address and a phone of a like type were displayed together. For example, a “Work” address had the “Work” phone number displayed below it. If I remember correctly we added “Branch” 1–15 for addresses and phone numbers and then created a custom template override file which would loop thru to display each branch. They were quite satisfied with the solution. Perhaps this would work for you?

Oh, so you wish to “sync” the RCP customer info with a directory entry? Is that correct? Trying to make sure we’re on the same page ;)

If this is correct, I would say it is possible but there is no “out of box” solution. Something would have to be custom coded to meet your specific needs.

Navigate to the Connections : Settings admin page and click the Fieldset Configuration tab.

Scroll down to the Phone Type options and change the label for the Work Phone to the desired label.

Save your changes.

The widgets are one of the mostly commonly used addons but receive the fewest questions / support issues so they are fairly robust. My best guess is was that the memory allocated to PHP was being exhausted and it took a little time for the web host server to implement the change you made. It is not always instant. The Customizer, in my experience, can be a little resource intensive, especially with larger complex themes. The resources required for the Connections widgets are very minimal but perhaps it was just enough to push it over the edge.

Let me know if you are still experiencing the issue, I’m sure I can resolve it quickly if you are. Let me know.

RE: Went to update Connections Business Directory and the update failed. Deactivated Connections, including cMap template and all extensions and now it won’t reinstall.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble! This is actually a WordPress error because WordPress failed to properly update the plugin. This is unfortunately out of my control. This is actually a somewhat common error users eventually face and is not limited to Connections as shown by this quick web search:

WordPress is pretty robust when it comes to installing and upgrading plugins but this process can fail for many reasons.

Luckily the solution to fix this should not not be too difficult. Here’s how:

• Log into your site with FTP or by using the web hosts file manager.
• Navigate to the ../wp-content/plugins/ folder.
• You should find a folder named connections. Delete this folder and only this folder.
• Now you can reinstall Connections normally.
• You will find all you data is safe after Connections is reinstalled.

There is no need to delete or reinstall any of Connections’ addons such as cMap. It will function properly after Connections is reinstalled.

RE: I’ve literally had nothing but issues ever since I installed this thing. I just don’t understand what is going on. I’ve never had so many issues with a plugin on WordPress ever.

What other issues have you had? I’ve search the support forums for anything else posted by you and was unable to find any? Did you post under another name/email address? I’d really like to know what issues you faced so I can look into them.

Do you know if you web host has you site setup with PHP 5.3 or greater?

It could be that PHP is exhausting the memory allocated to it. Here’s a link to a tutorial which explains how to increase it. I recommend at 128MB.

Odd, when I visit this page:

The map trays and the maps on the individual doctor pages work fine.

Google is issuing a warning about your API key being invalid. You should correct that.

Perhaps you are experiencing other errors in your browser. Load the page in Chrome, hit the F12 key and then click the Console tab. Chrome will show you the errors is has run into on the page. Make sure to click the Show Map link while the browser Console is open.

I suspect the reason why I see it working and you are not is based on the fact you are logged in and I am not. The cause is likely that another plugin is causing a fatal javascript error which only occurs while you are logged in. This in turn is breaking javascript for all plugins, not just Connections.

You would not get a popup blocker notification because Connections does not use them.
