The open and close [raw] shortcode is showing because the theme you’re using does not include it and by viewing your screenshot, I don’t think you need it.
However, the theme is overriding the styles of the search button. The theme also seems to be overriding the width of the category select.
The character index is working as designed, it does not filter by character, it will only jump to the start of the character group if it is on the current results page.
When you perform a search, look in the address bar. You should see
cn-s, do you see the word “Search” in addition to the name you’re searching for? If so, then the theme, most likely, is causing the issue.Unfortunately, with just a screenshot, I can provide any solutions, I’ll need a link to you directory.

Sorry, just noticed this was in reference to Excerpt Plus, scratch the alternative option. You’ll have to preprocess the images to the correct ratio before uploading.

If the image has to be scaled, image area will have to be added so the image does not distort. The only way to prevent this is to crop the image to the same ratio manually before you upload so when the image is scaled nothing has to be added to maintain the image ratio.
Another option … If image distortion is not an issue for the image you’re uploading, on the Connections : Settings admin page under the Image settings you can select the “None, scale to fit” option.

The entries that you’re importing, are they being imported as “Unlisted”? Edit a entry you imported to check.

The theme, most likely, has coded a very old version of jQuery to be used rather than the current version bundled with WordPress. This is actually breaking a couple of the plugins you have installed, for example the Events Calendar plugin.
Connections does includes a method that attempts to fix this issue being caused by the theme.
Go to the Connections : Setting admin page and under the Advanced tab check the jQuery option and save.
I see you’re running WP Super Cache, after you make this change, make sure all caches are emptied otherwise the change will have no effect.
Hope this helps.

Can you edit PHP?
If yes, can you open the
card.phpfile?Remove this:
width: <?php echo ( ( $atts['card_width'] - 20 ) / 2 );Remove exactly this and nothing more otherwise there will be errors.
Save the file and upload it overwriting the original version. Make sure to make a backup first incase you need to revert the change.
Hope that helps.

Oh, I understand … on [under] the actual blog post if the author is in Connections, it should show their entry. Correct?
