ParticipantAh. We’ll test on a stray domain I have. Thanks for the info!

ParticipantSteven, by default, it seems that for this to work we have to set permalinks site-wide to use page ID instead of postname. “home_id” is looking specifically for an ID and doesn’t seem to work with friendly urls. Is that the case? Can we have the shortcode look for postname instead or are we doing something wrong? It seems odd that the whole site permalink method would have to be changed.

ParticipantWill try it out Steven. Thanks.

ParticipantSteven, I’ve made that purchase.

ParticipantThanks Steven. Sorry about that! I will go ahead and do that momentarily.

ParticipantWe’re testing it.
Ideally, I really should have just bought the whole enchilada from the start. But it wasn’t really clear we needed to do that and there’s so much information that it would be a little tough to research it all first when working on a site dev timeline.
Anyway, you’d already done a sort of swap for the full template pack. I don’t want to be a pain, but if you are game, I’d just spring for the full purchase and trade back the individual stuff as whatever proration might make sense for you. If not, I’ll survive.

ParticipantThanks for the input Steven. Good info. Due to our initial use for a law firm site, there is a strong desire for any references/displays of the attorneys to be in their category hierarchy – Parnter, Associate, Of Counsel. While the built in Category filter and search are reasonable for many, it’s a hard sell to overcome attorney hierarchy.
Ultimately, the firm will need to be able to add/delete and arrange folks on their own and the site visitors need to be able to get to the attorney bios in the least amount of clicks. So, we are running into some little hurdles for this purpose.
I have a secondary question. Let me know if I should start a new thread for this:
Since the plugin implements a category/custom post type structure, can that structure be queried outside of the plugin so that we could display a link list(quasi menu) in a sidebar like we could do with any other WordPress Category/post structure?
