OK so I would like to set up CMAP exactly like your demo so I used

[connections image="siteshot" image_single="siteshot"]

I see the sitemap image in the directory listing, but when I select a single entry it says there is no image.

What do I need to do to see the image in a single entry ?

I have attached a screenshot to show you what I mean

I can see the potential for this to work, however I’m referring to the results from a short code embed

So for example I have used this code

[connections template='card' id='14']

and I get the attached result see image and I would like to replace the Text “Submit New Entry” with “Join our Free Directory”

I would be perfectly happy if you deleted my previous post in this thread. I was annoyed at the time I wrote that, and I have looked through the documentation and it is more than adequate, and if it does fail, Steven seems make up for in good communication.- kind regards Roland

I am well aware that Connections Pro is going to be my best shot at getting a useful directory service going however ‘I feel’, it remains quite confusing for a new user for example I purchased a number of products and packs but I can not not find the Widget for the Limited Directory Listing anywhere?

I checked my License and noticed that many of them had not been activated? How can I use a product for 2 years and then discover that some of them remain unactivated?

If there had been a “Get Started With Connections” Guide this might not have happened, one has to discover things as you travel along, and I readily admit that you excellent have documentation available, but it’s all in bits and pieces, and one has to search to find them there is no ‘Single Guide’ to the different options available.

Surely there should be 20 step guide,

1) Install …
1a) Licensing .. you activate here ( and if you go to the website you can see which are not activated).

2) Select a Template

cMap will give you .. (and has two images, only one is displayed)
Default will give you …

3) hey you don’t need the image you can use Siteshot and get a snapshot

Site shot has the following options …

4) Some People like to see the listings to appear in your page or post … this is how you do that,

…. by now the reader/ buyer would have understood all the amazing features and potential and would be well on their way to a decent directory installation and configuration.

I feel that a ‘Get Started Guide’ would go a very long way to reducing the number or support requests put forward.

I do respect that the level of support you provide is excellent, (and I am happy for you to make my response private) – I feel frustrated by how difficult it is to configure due to needing trawl through loads of help information before finding the gems.

Because prefer the cmap style is there anyway I can avoid the Select Category ‘pulldown’ at the top o the listing?

Hi,

I have puzzled over the difference between Logo and Image for some time.

Where exactly should I expect the logo to appear if for example I was using cMap?

For example in the Submission Form I had only ticked/checked the Logo and unchecked the Image, and after a user submission it did not appear anywhere in the publicly viewable listings but I could see the logo (in the admin console)

Sorry to to re-ask but I just don’t understand where the logo or image would appear in the listing if I checked those options in the submission form

To phrase the question another way, If the submission form offered both Image and Logo I still only see one “graphic” in the listing?

Actually I can see one small problem with Uncategorized = ID 8

Notice in the sidebar in the Categories Widget – I have a few Uncategorized entries listed, but there are no Approved listings in that category.

So what is happening (I think) is that the Widgit is picking up Unapproved Listing which are in Ungategorized category

I guess you would have written code to avoid showing “unapproved uncategorised” listings – so these would not normally show up with ID=1

I am willing to uninstall and then re-install the entire product in necessary, and if that will make sure I don’t have issues in the future.

Is it possible to backup and re-install the Connections Plugin? will I loose Data or can I backup up the data first.

I guess another way would be for me to go the Table concerned and add the Uncategorized Category with andan ID=1

I am planning to grow the directory very significantly during the coming holidays which is why I am doing my homework now.
