one other thing – import does not bring over parent-to-child relationship for categories?

You were right; looks like i had to select “Do not import” for the Entry ID. Everythign was successfully imported this time. Thanks for the quick response. Can i make a few suggestions that i think would help minimize the # of support requests for you and improve the set-up experience for your clients …

1) Recommend highlighting the two main import use case scenarios and what to do for each as part of your basic instructions on the Import CSV page within wp-admin. For example.. a sentence like this would go a long way IMHO “If importing new records, do not map Entry ID. If updating existing records, make sure you map entry ID.” .. something like that..

2) I think there’s an opportunity for you to highlight more clearly what comes with the Connections plugin free version vs. what you get from buying the various extensions. This could be communicated with a side-by-side feature list/grid. List out the main features in a column that come with free versions then in the subsequent columns list out the features from the various extensions. This will give buyers an “at-a-glance” understanding of what they get with free and what they could get if the pay all on one page. From this page, you can also have some CTAs to buy the extensions.

3) Within the Import tab under tools in WP-Admin, I recommend adding a quick disclaimer/note/CTA that tells the user that “you can only import categories using the free version. To be able to import new entries or bulk update existing ones, then buy are “Import CSV” extension.

Roger that. I purchased your extension Pro pack. Looking forward to trying out all the additional functionality. QQ – do i need to upload the categories first before doing a full import of all entries or does your code detect the missing categories and create automatically?
