ParticipantAt this point, most of the entries are coming from csv import, or from manual entry page. We are just starting to rollout Form, but its slow going there.
I understand the various pattern changes, so I get why it can’t be across the board. No worries.
I guess it would be cool to have a dropdown on the global settings page which allowed an admin to select from a few of the most common formats, that they wanted to apply across their entire database. e.g. (123), 123-, 44-1234- etc… Maybe include an option in the dropdown for unformatted, which could even be the default (and would allow for any unique format structures). Just a thought.
So, if I wanted to use this code above, where would I place it?
And if I wanted the format to be (123) 456-7890, what would that look like?
Thanks!

ParticipantDoh!! Braincramp. :)
I confused that with something else I thought I bought and couldn’t find. It was the CSV Import that was bought under another account, and is not in the account I can log into. My bad. Thanks.

ParticipantI guess I’m just going to move multiple location information into the Bio or Notes box for now. When capable on the amp, that would be great to have for better visual display.
Thanks.

ParticipantInteresting. Hmm, new code for me. Never tried that. Worked. btw, ie8 and less is only 4.9% of our traffic, those folks can deal with it.
Thanks!
Mitch
ParticipantYep. That worked, except I couldn’t figure our how to do the same with ‘Department’ without taking the entire Organization box with it?
Mitch
ParticipantHa. You lost me at ‘clever’ :)
I’ll look at the cn js, but not going to deep dive into the other. I have a premium wordpress forms plugin that can do what I want already, but I bought yours too because I liked the interface with the database. However, the inability to require selected fields would preclude me from using it in this application. I’ll just hope that some of these features get built into upcoming iterations of your plugin.
Thanks again for your solid products and terrific support.

ParticipantAh. OK, I was looking to make Name fields required even on an Organization. I want to capture the info, even if I choose not to display it on the page.
I have Organization as the default structure, and, YES, in that setup it does preclude a submission if the Organization field is empty. So it does work based on the way you created it. I just wanted to make Org, Name, email and maybe phone required fields on ALL submissions (or at least have the ability to select field to be required – doing so via shortcode would be great, as you could elect different required fields in different form usages).
Thanks as always for your timely reply.

ParticipantAt least you had a gorgeous Sunday, although the 3/4 inch of rain we had makes for an easier work day. :)
So, I’m not as smart as I come across sometimes. LOL. I updated to 0.7.9.1 and it seemed to override the above alpha version? When I had loaded 0.8 it still said .7.9 (which I know is normal) but then .7.9.1 overrode 0.8?
Regardless, even when I had .8 working, I have to admit I couldn’t figure out what I do with the new meta boxes. Sorry. :( Do you have any quick tut on it? Something so I can help test? I can’t tell how it affects layout/display, where they would show in cmap, etc..
It looks like it will be a fantastic addition to an already great plugin, I just couldn’t get my arms around the initial usage structure.
Any guidance? Thanks.

ParticipantOK, to sorta ‘reopen’ this… while the css mods worked great, back to my original premise.
How would you recommend that I list all records that:
have a specific ‘department’ (I’m using that as a ‘custom field’);
sorted by ‘category’;
using the Names template,
and where the category ‘name’ would be listed above each grouping (sort of like using the ‘alphahead’).Something like this [ connections template=’names’ department=’featured’ order_by=’category|sort_acs’ ] (it doesn’t work, but you see what I’m after).
Yeah, I do realize I can accomplish this via entering 40 or so different [connections ] shortcodes in a text widget, and manually adding the category name, but being super lazy (not really) :) I was just looking to see if there was a more ‘efficient’ way to do this.
Thanks!
