Thank you for the complete break down, step by step process. I did try it out and my only concern is that my website is open for everyone to register and the process of using the WordPress – Settings – General and setting up their profile is cumbersome and then to then have them enter their unique entry for the directory again is time consuming for the user.

I have it set up for now as the directory is listed on the page with the “submit new entry” feature enabled so anyone can submit an entry.

In the future do you think you will be adding a unique extension which would simplify the registration process? I’ve checked out some other options but, have not found anything simple and streamlined. Would love a simple extension that adds a Registration feature so that users could simply create a log in to be able to add an entry to the directory.

Thank you for your continued help. I really really want to get this to work and am just not seeing the larger picture on how to implement the things I need to be able to have a login page for those who want to fill out the Connections Form and be visible on the Connections Directory.

Can you recommend a free plugin or an article that shows a step by step process of how to implement this? I feel that I have the Link and Login extension now but, have no use for them as I do not have the user registration piece of things.

I do appreciate the time you have spent helping me. I am really looking forward to having my directory up and running correctly soon.

I’ve been doing a little more digging and realize I may need to install the login extension as well? I guess what I am looking for is this:

1. User comes to my directory page on my website and sees a link to register to log into the directory to submit an entry.
2. Categories are listed on the directory page for visitors to browse the directory.
3. Login available for those already entered and who wish to edit their information.

Is there a step by step procedure guide on how I can achieve this and what the exact shortcode text is for all of this to display properly on the directory page?

Thanks, Steven! I have excluded the forms URL in the WP Rocket Settings. I also went to the Northern California Direct Sellers Directory Page and checked the box showing
“Never Cache This Page”. The forms URL still does not appear to work from a mobile device. I apologize this is not working still. Is there anything else I can try?

And as a follow up, when you go to the link above, it shows “Submit Entry” and lists my categories in a drop down then the 1 entry in the directory is showing. Is there a way for
1. The Categories be listed as individual links and not in a scrolling drop down?
2. For no entries to be shown directly on the directory page until a category is chosen?

Thank you so much Steven for your quick reply! Very helpful! 2 more questions and that’s it I think!
1. The Social Media Field is very small and I cannot see what is being typed in as I type an entry. It’s only on this field which is strange. Is there a work around to this?
2. My directory is only for a certain area within California. Is there a way to set up the form so that the person entering information has to verify their city? For example, making the City and Zip Code entry a requirement?
