Very new to the group and just downloaded a premium template and forms extension. I would love all of the categories that I created to show on my directory page where the connections plugin is working. Is there an easy way to achieve this without knowing code? Appreciate the support!12/07/2016 at 3:33 pm #402641
Yes, the easiest is the Enhanced Categories extension. It has an option to display the categories above the directory with various “sub” options to configure the display.
Now, that said, I see you have the Circled template. This already has the option to display a category drop down. To enable it, follow these directions.
Hope this helps!
ps. If you opt for the Enhanced Categories extension, you should use it instead of the category dropdown added by Circled.12/07/2016 at 3:50 pm #402645
Thank you so much Steven for your quick reply! Very helpful! 2 more questions and that’s it I think!
1. The Social Media Field is very small and I cannot see what is being typed in as I type an entry. It’s only on this field which is strange. Is there a work around to this?
2. My directory is only for a certain area within California. Is there a way to set up the form so that the person entering information has to verify their city? For example, making the City and Zip Code entry a requirement?
Thank you for being patient with all my questions! Really new to this space and your plugin is very user friendly! Recommending it to others!12/08/2016 at 10:06 am #402730
re: The Social Media Field is very small and I cannot see what is being typed in as I type an entry. It’s only on this field which is strange. Is there a work around to this?
Hmmm… very likely this is being caused by the theme or another plugin “stomping” on the styles for Connections. I’ll need a link to the page with the issue so I can take a look and develop the CSS required to override and fix it for you.

Sorry, no, this would have to be custom coded for you if that is a requirement.12/08/2016 at 12:04 pm #402755
Here is the link to my Directory Page in progress. Once you see the form the Social Media ID field is very short and does not open up.
Appreciate the help!12/08/2016 at 12:34 pm #402758
And as a follow up, when you go to the link above, it shows “Submit Entry” and lists my categories in a drop down then the 1 entry in the directory is showing. Is there a way for
1. The Categories be listed as individual links and not in a scrolling drop down?
2. For no entries to be shown directly on the directory page until a category is chosen?
Thanks!12/09/2016 at 11:04 am #402931
Unfortunately I can not see the page. I only see a coming soon note.
