ParticipantAh yes I do remember that now. I activated Maps Marker, then I disabled “Deregister Google Maps API scripts enqueued by third parties”, and received the below message.
Warning: an active plugin or theme is also embedding the Google Maps API (script handle: cn-google-maps-api) – this can break (Google) maps and address search on backend for Leaflet Maps Marker!
To fix this, please either remove that additional Google Maps API call manually or enable the compatibility option “Deregister Google Maps API scripts enqueued by third parties”Yet, both Maps Marker and Connections seem to be working ok?
Thanks Steven
FYI – I am in conversation with Maps Marker plugin developer too.
Jack
ParticipantThanks Steven deactivating Maps Marker did the trick, unfortunately.
So I guess I’ll contact them about the issue. In the mean time do you have any recommendations on a free map plugin that is similar, or in the least plays well with Connections?
Thanks Jack
Jack
ParticipantThanks for your quick replies!
Unfortunately that seems to not work either.
Please keep in mind I did not have the JavaScripts load option checked prior to my current issues.Jack
ParticipantGoogle Maps API v3 is enabled.
Now when I select the links they bounce me to top of page.Jack
ParticipantI unchecked Google Maps API v3 in Connection settings and that brought back the functionality to my Show Artist Artwork, Show Artist Biography links.
However, Show Maps opens, but it still sends me to top of page and Google Maps does not load.I deactivated the plugin, Leaflet Maps Marker, but did not fix issue. It is loading Google Maps, but I never had a conflict between Leaflet Maps Marker and Connections before.
Any help is most appreciated.
Thanks! JackJack
ParticipantThat did the trick!

ParticipantFIXED!
I located the issue, it was in the page where I am displaying the member directory. This below was buried in the page text.
<!– [connections show_alphahead='true'] –>
I removed it, updated the page in WP, refreshed the browser page and it is now displaying correctly.
Not sure why it just now caused an issue?
Jack
ParticipantYes! That is what I was looking for.
My confusion was with the View Admin Menu giving too much control. Thanks for the clarification!
Jack
ParticipantThanks for your quick reply.
I have attached the screen capture you requested.(see notes in file)
Essentially, I would think that if I give the ability to Add or Edit an entry to any of the roles, than when the person assigned to that role logs in, they would be able to add or edit an entry. Am I making sense?
