ParticipantYippie!
My first thought was to just make the widget query categories that had public listings.. But, my php skills wayne when it comes to constructors and classes I didn’t want to do something that killed everything.

ParticipantSorry, I should have clarified. This is regarding the count showing everyone in the system public, private & unlisted.
I need to figure out how to have the count represent the public numbers and only show categories with public listings.

ParticipantAnd when I say just for public view, can you dream up any code that I could add the the widget file that would only query public listed connections on the front end regardless of access level? That would totally solve my issue.

ParticipantHave you been able to think about this one any more? how about just for public view? it’s really bugging my client.

ParticipantI would love to figure out a way to remove unlisted and private entries from the category widget as well… I can turn the count off, which was pretty simple but the problem is visitors navigating to categories that show but have no visible listings. If I leave the count there then they think there should be a listing but can’t find one…

ParticipantAhoy,
If anyone is reading this thread it looks like the code changed a bit. So:
It’s actually line 190 that you would want to change to this:
'show_empty' => FALSE,To hide the empty categories in the sidebar widget.
