Did you always have your directory on the front page of the site. In “older” versions of Connections and templates this didn’t work because of a feature built into WordPress called canonical redirect. The way this works with the causing plugins that work like Connections troubles. I’m certain I have worked around the issue, but you need the latest Connections, which you do, but you also need the 3.0.x version of Market. This is a free update that can be downloaded from your Purchase History. Please be sure to follow the installation/upgrade instructions carefully as template installation has changed.
