Oh, well, I see… the default entry card template does not support shortcodes that is why they have no effect when you view the single entry. The only way to change those strings in the default entry card template is to use the Say What? plugin. Here’s a link to a QuickTip that explains how to use it.
As for the Google Map on the single entry, the default entry card template does not support this either. If you need that, then you need to use the Tile Plus template to be used on the single entry view which means you would have to disable the the Single Entry template option.
The Tile Plus template is going to be updated next week to use the new Template Customizer… this should make it far easier to configure the way you want it to be setup because all the settings will be done with an interactive point and click interface rather than having to use complex shortcodes. If you are running Connections 8.4 or newer you can check this out now as the default entry card template already supports the Template Customizer.
