Hi Steven. I was on vacation for a week and just now saw that you replied with another thing to try. We updated our Snippets plugin and Connections plugins and then recreated the snippet very carefully, making sure that the syntax editor was color coding the sections properly, and it was. We created a test page here:

that only has this code in it:
[connections initial_results='false']

Is there anything else you can think of for us to try? Thank you so much for helping us through this.

Steven, we love your plugin! We are really wanting just one thing to work and would love your help figuring out how to hide the initial results. We’ve followed the QuickTip mentioned in this thread. We’ve added the snippets plugin, the code snippet and activated it, and put the initial_results=’false’ in our Connections shortcode. However, the results still show the first time the page comes up. We also made sure there was no HTML in our Connections shortcode.
