they still get the option to add a new entry. They do not connect with the one I created.

a user can log in through the active directory, create a record and on subsequent logins, they can view and edit that record. that is great.

However, I have created hundreds of records. I would like for users to log in and be able to edit the record I created for them. The emails will match their user email. Currently, a user that has a record that I created can log in and they will be given the option to create a new record. They will not be connected with the record that I created.

A user is created when they log in. I can see them in the user list.

Hi Steve, It is Active Directory. Is there anyway to pass the email from Active Directory to Connections?

Ok. I checked the configuration and it was correct. I am a little confused. Our organization allows users to log in to WP using their userid (the first part of their email) and a password that they use across platforms. It recognizes their email and in WP settings there is a check box that says anyone with the @. email can register. When I select that, the link to add a new record appeared on the database when the user was logged in to WP through with company userid/password. When that box is unchecked, that option is not there for new people logged in via WP. (I had another person test on their mac laptop and it would not let them in to the organization log in page). I would much rather have people bypass the dashboard if at all possible or do front end updates and additions from anywhere, but I have entered records with their emails already. How does connections make that link happen? I’m missing something obvious, I am sure. Right now, with the settings I have, anyone from inside the organization can log in thru WP, add their own record (moderated) and can see it and update it if they log out and in. Now I just need for people to be able to open records that were previously created for them. Or, do I need to include login?

I have link activated. I have directory entries already made. I have a setting that allows users with the company email automatically register and those people can see the add my database entry link, but they are not connecting to their own already established (by me) record. How do I make the connection between the people who are logged into wp and the database record that I’ve created for them?
