    Thanks Steven! That’s why I wanted to check before I did anything rash.

    That’s correct. The only “missing” piece would be to send a copy of the “add-approved” or “update-approved” to the email in the actual listing, the person submitting the listing.

    Member Bob submits a change/adds a listing. ==> Admin 1 receives an email alerting them ==> Admin 1 approves it ==> which sends an email to Admin 2 and Member Bob.

    Upon approval, the email would go to the original submitter, and any additional email addresses set up in the admin area.

    Hadn’t thought about it that way.

    A second pie-in-the-sky idea: Would it be possible to have the approval of a listing trigger an email? Again, thinking about how we would use it, it’s possible that the moderator would adjust something changed by a member, say correcting “ave.” to “Avenue” or formatting a phone number/area code, before approving the listing. It would be great if instead of the “raw” listing being emailed to our second staff person, the “approved” version would be emailed to them, and to the member who submitted the change.

    This would serve 2 purposes, keeping the information consistent, and also as a notice to the original submitter that their listing was “live” in the database.

    That sounds fantastic!

    While you’re in development, I might as well ask for the sky: is there any way to highlight the information that’s changed in the listing? Thinking of how we would be using the add-on (for notification of changes) it would be extremely helpful for the person entering the information in the off-line database if the changed information was highlighted or marked in some way so that they could tell that only the phone number was changed, or the zip code and phone number were changed.

    Not sure that’s even possible, but I thought I would ask.

    Let me know if you need a beta tester.

    An issue that’s come up as a result (I think) of removing the categorydiv from the listing form:

    When the changed listing it put into the moderation cue, the category is no longer selected, and has to be set by the moderator before approving. My theory is that since the field is not being submitted as part of the change, it overwrites the category field in the database with nothing. This is not an issue with the other fields I’m removing, since we’re not using those, but I suppose the same thing is happening with them as well.

    Instead of removing the categorydiv as above, I’ve hidden it using a little CSS in the admin header and tested, and the correct category is now displayed in the moderation cue, while it’s no longer displayed to users.

    That’s exactly what I would need. Actually, since we’re not using Connections to allow members to add new entries, the only notification in this particular case we need is for changes to a record, but I can see where these notifications would be helpful for monitoring adds/deletes in other cases. Not sure there would be any other event that would be helpful to trigger a notification.

    I’ve found a manual workaround, involving a plugin that can export a CSV file based on a SQL query of pending changes… not elegant, not automated, but it will work for the time being.

    Make the Extension, and I’ll be first in line with a fistful of $$. ;-)

    Ahhhhhhh, I get it, it’s not in the side like the categories… Thanks for all of your help, you’ve been amazing!

    I had to uninstall User Role Editor because of the conflict, and using the above code, everything is purring along.

    I’ve tried removing 2 other meta boxes using the above as a template, but it’s not working for me. I’m trying to remove the Logo and Dates meta boxes using:

    remove_meta_box( 'metabox-logo', $connections->pageHook->link, 'side' );
    remove_meta_box( 'metabox-date', $connections->pageHook->link, 'side' );

    Any ideas for me?

    P.S. The client is over-the-moon happy with Connections!

    Stupid me, I gave you the wrong URL for the example of the site I’m working on:

    Correct example:

    I’m sure. It’s User Role Editor version 3.14.1. It has an option in the Custom capabilities section of the settings for connections_edit_categories that hid the Category meta box on the Edit My Directory Listing page.

    Thanks for the other remove code snippets!
