It’s solved.

the .htaccess had a REWRITERULE rule that forced requests to the wp-admin directory to go over SSL.
That was done in order to force admin sessions to go over SSL.

I removed that and added a plugin to do that job.

I updated the plugins.

When I submit an entry, I get this message : Unknown error has occurred!
Still the same behavior with the default category,

Also I noticed that the setting->”default category” is not taken into account, I guess it could be linked to a database issue as well

My mistake,

It’s a period in the database and a comma when editing entries manually in the manage section.

The lat/long are fine in the SQL database and in connection/manage entries.

I don’t know where else to look.
I suspect it could be due to the French localization, but so far, I can’t find where to customize it.
It’s not in the Date and language settings in WP.
