RE: want there to be a VCard button so that others browsing can click and download any specific person’s details.

Navigate to the Connections Settings admin page and click the Display tab. Scroll down to the Single Entry Actions section and enable the Add to Address Book action.

Now when viewing the the single entry profile page, the user will be presented a link which will download a vCard.

RE: Emails are visible, if there’s a proven solution to help guard against harvesting for spambots, please pass that along too.

There is the ROT13 Email Encryption addon.

Or you can hide the email addresses completely and use the Contact addon

You can use the order_by shortcode option. Example 2 shows how to list specific entries in a specific order.

Alternatively you could use the Custom Entry Order addon.
