RE: maps are not displayed (API Keys are installed)
Look in the browser console. In Chrome, hit the F12 key and click the console tab. Google Maps reports the DeletedApiProjectMapError error.
Something went wrong in Google’s API console when you were setting up the key. This is not the fault of the plugin.
In addition, you have enabled the Single Template option on the Connections : Settings admin page under the Display tab in the Single Entry section. Disable this option.
RE: layout of the content page does not display changes initiated by shortcodes (I worked strictly according your documentation)
Can you elaborate on specific changes?
RE: email is not displayed, although activated in template settings
You have installed and activated the Contact extension one of its primary features is to do exactly that, hide the email address from public view. Instead a contact form can be displayed on the entry profile/detail view. Here’s the link to the doc on its configuration. If you want public email addresses, deactivate Contact.
RE: work_address is translated as “Schule” instead “Arbeit” or better just “Anschrift” (I tried “Say what” but it does not help / changes via shortcode does not work)
Translations are user supplied. I only include them. I have no way to validate if the translation is as good as it should be.
This may be a regression in the latest update, breaking Say What and the shortcode. I’ll have to double check… Just finished double checking, both Say What? and the shortcode option do still work. Though there does seem to be one very minor regression. On the admin add/edit entry page it is not affected by Say What and it should be. However it does indeed work on the sites front end.
The latest version of Connections make this far, far, easier to do. Navigate to the Connections : Settings admin page and click the Field Configuration tab and scroll down to the Address Types section. Rename the types as desired. This is brand new. I’m playing catch up with the docs. The other fieldset configuration options are forthcoming in urther updates. I make changes like this in phases so bugs can be fleshed out before being implemented further.
RE: as reported submission of entry form does not work
As mentioned in my last reply, not the fault of Connections if what I suspect is true for you as it was for the other user. Like I said, I can apply a hotfix which should correct the issue if the cause is the same. It is unfortunate you experienced this issue, however, it is not the fault of Connections. Other plugins should not be unregistering core WP files.
