How odd! I can not fathom how UAM could possibly cause this since there is not shared code or tables for Connections and WordPress categories. I’m not able to replicate this on my test site. If you can give me a WP admin login and an FTP login, I’ll investigate further. The login details can be posted here as a private reply.

Sorry, no, I do not know of any good alternatives to UAM. Honestly, I’m not too familiar with UAM either. Basically I know of it and what it is supposed to do.
