The open_basedir issue is being caused by your web hosts configuration. The solution I gave in this post will fix the issue.
The specific file you’ll need to delete is:
../wp-content/plugins/connections/templates/~README.txt/
It is just a simple text file so it is safe to delete.
Another question: I had the old cMap altered to my needs. Can I use the old style.css? Or do I have to redo the changes?
Maybe, depends on the changes. The only way to know is to try. You say older version of cMap. How old? What’s the version? Are you sure it is the plugin version of cMap … templates didn’t use to be plugins like they are now so if it is a really old version you may need to install it using the legacy template installer on the bottom of the Connections : Templates admin page. Sorry for the non-specific answer but it is hard to answer without knowing the changes and what version of the template you’re using.
