Can you attach a screen capture of the following:

1. The Connections : Settings admin page Images tab.
2. The page with the actual [connections] shortcode. The edit page in the admin, I need to see the exact shortcode you’re using.

On the Connections : Settings admin page under the Images tab for the Medium image, I recommend either of these options:
Resize proportionally to fit entire image into the specified dimensions and add margins if required.
Resize proportionally adjusting the size of scaled image so there are no margins added.

If you have image_width and/or image_height used in the shortcode, they will override the settings and use the default crop mode instead.
