AS explained in the link I gave, this must be done in database as this is not a Connections bug. If your webhost has a control panel that you have access to, usually one of the tools they provide is phpMyAdmin. After a quick search, I found this how to link:

If you not familiar with this tool, I recommend contacting your host support and asking them to change the collation default to utf8_swedish_ci and also have them change any tables not using this collation.
