Introduction
The latest release of Connections added a new block for the WordPress Block editor, the Team Block.
This is a full featured block powered by Connections. This is not a “lite” version either. Similar premium plugins cost $20 or more but we have added this as a free feature available to all users!
Feature Highlights
You can choose between several layout options and layout style variations. Here’s a quick breakdown of those options:
- Grid
- Clean
- Flip
- Slide
- Overlay
- List
- Left
- Right
- Table
If you choose the Grid or List layout you can choose whether or not to display a drop shadow. You can also choose to add a border and set its color and width.
In all Layout options / Style variations you can choose between a square image, a square image with rounded corners or a circle image. You can choose whether or not to add a border to the image and set its color and width.
All layout style variations are mobile ready!
Theme independant! The Team block will work in all the popular themes such as Avada, Divi, Enfold and OceanWP. Using the available style options the Team block can be tweaked to fit into most theme designs.

How do I get the Team Block for my site? It really looks great!
Install the latest version of Connections on your WordPress site.
Make sure you have the latest version of WordPress installed. As of the time of this reply, that version is 5.1.
And lastly, make sure you are using the new WordPress Block editor when adding a page. This will be the default unless you’ve change it with a plugin like Classic Editor.
Click the “Add Block” button. The plug sign.
Type “team (without quotes). The block should show as a result in the Connections Directory section.
Add the block and configure its settings.
Hope this helps
Is there a way to utilize the new features, since we’re using the Classic Editor?
Sorry, no, the new Blocks can only be used in the Block editor. I suggest using the Classic Editor plugin and set it up to make it the default but allow you to choose to use the Block editor. Then, for the page you want to use these new blocks on, switch it to the editor to the Block editor for that one page. This is how I manage it on this site. Most pages use the Classic editor while there are a few where I use the Block editor.
Hope this helps!
