Install the Connections Business directory plugin on your WordPress site. Here are the instructions:
Add a new page, using the WordPress Block Editor.
Insert the Carousel block and configure it to your liking.

What I can’t understand is how can I set up a search system for category / location filters in the home directory.
I want to allow visitors to search exactly for the business of a specific category and a specific location.
