Version 8.3 Released - Connections Business Directory

The focus of development for this release was on admins tools. This release brings a new Tools admin page. The first tools included are System Information, Settings Export/Import and Logs.

The System Information tool replaces the System widget that use to live on the the Dashboard admin page. This new tool provides a wealth of information about your WordPress configuration, server configuration and web host information. The aim or purpose of this tool is to provide you with even better than our already highly rated support. This tool gives you multiple ways to share this information with us, or anyone else.

You can copy right from the page and send it to anyone.
You can send it as an email attachment right from the page.
Or you can even create an auto expiring secret link that you can share.

The second new tool is Settings Export/Import. You can now very easily export the settings for Connections from one site and import them on another.

And lastly a log management tool. Presently this logs all email sent thru Connections which includes the System Information, the Form notification email and the Contact email.

The System Information tool was based off the Send System Info plugin (used with permission) which was itself based off the System Info textarea in Easy Digital Downloads by Pippin Williamson (Pippin Williamson is not associated with Connections nor is his endorsement implied.) This is not simple a copy/paste implementation either… many improvements were made to make it very tightly integrated with Connections.
