I’ve been hard at work on the next update to Connections. This update continues my focus on CSV exporting. The new tool adds support to batch export the categories as a CSV file quickly and efficiently. My test database has nearly 2,000 categories and it exports all of them in only a couple seconds. A great feature of this export is that it will sort the categories alphabetically and then build a hierarchy showing the category parents if you have nested categories. So, why is that good news and why would you want that? Well, as an added bonus, this update will also feature bulk importing nested categories, which is a very highly requested feature. This is being added to and included in the free core plugin which means everyone will be able to very easily and quickly import thousands of categories. I’ll also be including a few sample CSV files for US states, cities and zip codes as free downloads so you’ll be able to immediately take advantage of this new feature.
thanks
