No, you should not edit the theme files. I highly recommend you revert that change. Go to the theme options. Most theme’s have a spot for you to enter custom CSS without having to edit files. A quick Google search says it should be on Qode Options > General > Custom theme options page.
After you apply the CSS the images should display properly.
