    Hi Steve,

Please forgive me if this question has been answered elsewhere.

I really appreciate the “split categories” extension.

    Please see this page: https://www.jungiananalysts.org.uk/find-an-analyst/

I am using one root category to allow my users to search for an analyst by geographic region (35).

I will be using another root category (31) in the shortcode to show different member types on different pages.

Here’s my question. In the dropdown select category list, how do I show the categories from one root, but hide the categories in other root?

    thanks,
    Stephen

In using the “Show” category to expand list entries, the SHOW category also shows up in the category dropdown menu. How can I hide it from the dropdown?

I’m using the cMap template and want to hide the listing until the user performs a search or selection from dropdown. I installed the suggested plugin “connections-initial-search-results” and I’m getting several errors/notices printed at the top of the page. The function does work properly but I need to resolve the errors at the top of the page.

The website is running a child theme of Storefront which is a Woocommerce theme. The php version is 7.0.6

    Here are the error messages:

    Hi Steven, Great plugin!

I have cmap template and I need some changes.

1: How I can add dropdown district to search bar. like: http://prntscr.com/gid8db

I thought about creating new category district and add dropdown exclude others categories, but how can I exclude category district for main dropdown category with the shortcode connections.

    Custom search bar

2: How to hide/remove “show map” on some entries.

3: I use connections-form shortcode en three pages with different fields. How can I know from what page the entry was registered?

    Thanks you!

    Hello

I have a staff page here, http://new.jotunn.is/um-okkur/starfsfolk/, the default category is Allir (means all in english) but since there is an option to see all categories in the select box I would like to hide the Allir category, wich is the default category in Connections. Can you help me with this issue ? I have tried some custom jQuery code but since the list is generated after the page load I can’t find a way to hide this category.

Ok thanks for the fast reply.

I know the answer is likely no, but could a custom field, or one of the one of the extensions, be modified to act like a dropdown or select field (like what happens in the category form field) or just a list (like what happens in the extensions). Only requirement is that when clicked it filters out all entries by that one field. I would then hide the country field from the form

re: Is there a way to hide the search message box when using the dropdown category search?

Yes, you can disable this on the Connections : Settings admin page under the Display tab.

re: Also is there a way to rename the “Show all Categories” entry for the dropdown menu?

Yes this can be done with the str_select_all shortcode option for Slim Plus. Add the following to the existing shortcode str_select_all="Change Me" to change the label.

    I hope that helps!

Hi, is it possible to hide all results so the user can just choose a category from the dropdown (or widget) ?
Also, how do I change/edit text from “Choose Category” to “Choose Country”?

    Thanks.

re: I’d like to hide the category search box in the category dropdown menu.

    Sorry, this is not possible.

re: I’d also like to hide all staff entries until the user either searches or chooses a category.

Sure, this is a little complex to enable though… here’s the link to the tutorial.

    Hope that helps!
