I’ve started scoping out the changes that would be required to to enable entries to be set as “Featured in Category” and “Featured”.

“Featured” is a super entry, it will be displayed before all other entries in every circumstance.
“Featured in Category” will display after the “Featured” entries but before the standard entries in the categories the entry is assigned.

This will not be a slider, but will allow the development of one plus many other nifty things related to being able to define featured entries.

I’m uncertain as when the featured entries feature will land at this point in time, BUt I can safely say this year.
