This is not likely an issue with Connections, but the update process with WordPress.
Deactivate and delete the Connections plugin. Your data and settings are safe. Now reinstall Connections as you normally would install a plugin.
If you still get a similar error…
I suspect you might be exhausting the resources allocated to PHP. Check the PHP memory limit and increase it if needed. I recommend at least 128MB for a WordPress installation. Also check the PHP execution limit. I recommend 300. Here’s a link to a tutorial on how to increase the PHP execution limit.
