What is the name of the first result? Is it “VIA Feng Shui Training and Mentoring – through Visual and Intuitive Arts“? If it is, it is assigned to the “feng-shui-schools” category. I’m assuming that is the “Schools” category you are mentioning. Correct? If it is, then it would appear that is is displaying correctly.

You could try using the exclude_category shortcode option. It is used in the [connections] shortcode, not the shortcode for the advanced search. Things can get really tricky when you start combining the advanced search and wanting to exclude categories.
