Yes this is possible, many other do exactly this. That said since Connections is optimized for single page use then setup is more complex.

Others use the category shortcode option to create multiple directories on separate pages.

I see you’ve purchase the Widget Pack, be aware that the widget links will always resolve to the page set as the directory home page. My suggestion is to create a “master” directory page with no limitations.
