Sorry, but because every theme is different you’ll have to refer to your theme’s documentation where their custom CSS area is. If you theme does not have one, you could use a plugin like JP Custom CSS. As for how to add the CSS text, you could type it or copy paste it into the CSS field. I recommend copy/pasting to eliminate chance of typos.
