The issue is more likely that the memory assigned to PHP ios being exhausted. It just so happens with the mix of plugins installed that Connections pushes it over the edge.

Here’s an excellent blog post which describes several methods to increase memory allocated to PHP. Which one that works will depend on the web host. I recommend starting at the top and working your way down. Start with 128MB.
