yes, first, you need the SiteShot extension.
Then, alter the shortcode on your directory page. Add image_fallback=siteshot to the existing shortcode. Now, when no logo exists, the site shot will be used.
re: If we have a certain company and we want to highlight those entries in the listings, is there a way we can do that? Perhaps through adding a background colour to the specific entries. Or being able to select/filter the company from the top as with the ABC… letters?
The HTML for the entries contains quite a few selectors. You could use the CSS selector to target a specific entry of entries in a category and change their display pretty much almost any way you wish to highlight them.
