It is unlikely that the db update caused this issue since that only slightly changes the db structure when saving and retrieving entries. It sounds like a settings misconfiguration.

I just did a test submission on you site. It appears that my submission did enter the moderation queue as it is not listed on your site. The success message was also correct for a submission entering the mod queue.

Also, I did receive the submission notice letting me know that my submission was received.

It does appear everything is working as expected.
