The full URLs you found in the database are not used as they are actually updated on the fly when displaying the images.

The only reason the URL/s would not change automatically is if they were forced by the setting of some constant in the wp-config.php file.

Can you please share a link to your system info? You can create this link on the Connections : Tools admin page under the System Info tab at the very bottom.
