Sorry, but the [upcoming_list] shortcode does not have a category filter. Presently, only the Upcoming Anniversaries/Birthday widget included in the Widget Pack includes this feature as well as several others not present using the shortcode. Using the widget, you have the option of using it as a shortcode, however, the display will be very different. The [upcoming_list] shortcode displays as a table whereas the widget will display as a list.
