This was the theme… this file, line 12:

.flexslider .slides img, #content-area img, #logo { max-width: 100%; width: auto; height: auto; }

That max-width: 100% breaks the image tile display in Google Maps. I made an adjustment to Connections to override the theme’s style. Looks great now.
