Thanks for the heads up! I am aware of the newer version and I have previously reviewed the diffs between the changes as well as the commit messages. It is just a few minor tweaks none of which have a material effect of usage within Connections or security. If it makes you feel more comfortable, you can grab the latest version of TimThumb from here and replace the copy in the Connections folder shown by your host. I’m actually working to remove its usage altogether since WP 3.8 and greater have much improved image manipulation API/s.
