The short answer, it probably would not take too much work to allow form to edit an entry. I do not have the capacity to take on a project at this time. I do have someone I can recommend. I’ll point him to this forum thread and let him reply.
The long answer…
Form is due for a rewrite now that I’m nearly finished writing the code to support custom fields. The reason for the rewrite is so that Form can support custom fields. Once that is complete and before the rewrite; I need to implement some type of method for finer grained control over what a user can edit within “their” entry without data loss to info they are not permitted to edit in “their” entry. This isn’t all that important to the core info that can be entered for an entry but necessary for when custom fields come in play because their could be info that only that admin is to enter/edit in their entry. Here’s a basic example. Every now and then I get a request for the ability for the user not to be able to edit the categories to which they’ve been assigned. Right now that is not possible without loosing the categories associated with the entry. I want to enable this without the data loss to all the info within an entry both core and any random custom fields that can be added. Only after those pieces are completed will Form be rewritten and part of that rewrite will be to allow front end editing if Link is installed.
Hope that helps.
