That is one of the fields that is searched thru by default. You can define the fields that are search on the Connections : Settings admin page if needed. Another item you might want to consider you can turn the Department field into a link so when the link is clicked the results will be filtered by the Department that was clicked. You can enable this on the Connections : Settings admin page under the Advanced tab.
